Load data from data logger after meteoplug client was down

Post by schitho » Sun Sep 08, 2013 7:55 am

Hi,
if the meteoplug client is down for some time, the weather data from my vantage vue wil still be logged in the weather link data logger. My old weather sw „weathercat“ loaded all the available data out of the data logger and stored just the new records.
Q1 - Can this data (saved in logger during downtime) be uploaded with the meteoplug client or is it lost?
Q2 – If it’s lost, could it be loaded with a local meteohub?

Thanks for any help.

Kind regards, Thomas

ad 1) yes, it uploaded automatically meteoplug starts again for the first time.
ad 2) Meteohub does the same.

Hi,
thanks for your answer so far. I didn't expect, that the data during the downtime of the meteoplug client will be loaded, because the old data wasn't loaded at the initial start of the client. I did a test this evening and switched off the meteoplug client for about 30'. I realized, that only average values every 10' were uploaded and not all the detail data. I assume that's what I can expect.

you can change logging intervall of the davis data logger by the console, afaik.
storing all incoming data does NONE of the other weather programs do and the
poor davis logger for sure not ;-)

Hi, many thanks for your answer and your support!
May I ask for your advice concerning the second question I placed in this forum with the title "Format of csv file to import historical data". This is an important issue for me and I'm unsure if I asked in the correct topic or even in the correct forum.
Kind regards, Thomas

meteohub and meteoplug share the same weather station read-out code, so there will no additional feature with using meteohub on that. or did i get our question wrong?

Hi,
it seems you misunderstood my previous reply. All the questions (Q1/Q2) in this topic "Load data from data logger after meteoplug client was down" has been answered; thanks again for that. In my previous reply I asked for an advice concerning another topic with the title ""Format of csv file to import historical data" I placed also in the same section "handling data".
This is an important issue for me and I'm unsure if I placed the question in the correct section or even in the correct forum because I didn't get any reply so far. But I'm pretty sure, the information I asked for must be documented or known by someone.
Sorry, if my english isn't that clear, but it isn't my mother tongue.
Kind regards, Thomas

there is no mode for forcing read-out of old data from the logger.
It would do a complete mess when read-out data time stamped every
10 minutes gets mixed up with properly logged data.
