Javascripts or not

Post by gand » Tue May 26, 2015 1:21 pm

Hi

It is possible to use &engine=javascript in the URL.

Could someone please explain to me the advantages/disadvantages of doing that?

I have tried to test with/without javascripts and I'm not sure I can see any differences. I have observed using javascripts, I sometimes have longer response times. But that could be caused by other circumstances.

Thanks

Rgds

I use it for all my graphs, because I mainly look at them via mobile/tablet with no Flash support. It's 98% the same, a little bit less pretty and, as the only a bit unfortunate bug, overlaps the graph values on the legend's title line under certain conditions. I guess these days you do your visitors a favor when you use the javascript engine. Many use mobile devices for web surfing meanwhile and Flash is a dying species.
