Network-Settings

Post by bubulino » Mon Jan 10, 2011 9:40 am

I have selled a weatherBoxx light (Meteoplug Client) to a customer.
Now, the networkadministrator called me and telled me, that they have
special Networksettings in the area.

--> All clients can only access to the WAN via a proxyserver.

Is ist possible, to setup the meteoplug in a "free LAN" for Proxyaccess and after this
to bring the meteoplug to the "closed LAN"?

Another question concerned the firewall Settings:
- which ports are used for communicating?
(must be free for the client)

Thanks for the infos

The Meteoplug client needs a DHCP server in the LAN to get an IP and the gateway and DNS IP.
Communication is done on standard http port 80. When the proxy is transparent, then this should work.

If it needs manual proxy settings you are without luck, because meteohub doesn't know your proxy port and or ip.
Configuration of proxy settings on the Meteoplug server (where all the other settings are done) does not help,
because the cient fails to connect to there in the first place.

Could you please explain what kind of proxy is used in the target environment?
